A Brass & Ebonite Salmon Reel measuring 3 1/2ins. in diameter dating to around the year 1900. Sporting a constant check and a rolling pillar bar the reel has German Nickel Silver bound rims and original handle. The brass face plate and foot retain good patina and the ebonite back plate is neither badly scratched nor cracked. The reel would be suitable for anyone seeking a heavy reel as a user (it includes period backing), would make a reasonable addition to a collection due to its condition and would also serve very well as an accurate and authentic late Victorian prop for any theatre, television or film production.
